Our Accreditations - Better Planet

MCS

The scheme was introduced by the government back in 2009 and Better Planet was one of the first companies to be accredited.

The scheme is linked to government incentives, such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) for heat pumps and the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) scheme for solar PV. To be eligible for these government incentives, the design and installation must be carried out by an MCS accredited installer, using MCS accredited products.

The purpose of the scheme is to provide standards for design and installation of heat pumps, solar panels, and other renewables. It covers installations up to 45 kW for heat pumps and up to 50 kWp for solar PV.

We consistently deliver high-performance systems, meeting, and exceeding industry standards by complying with MCS standards, complying with manufacturer recommendations, and adding 18 years or our own experience in designing and installing the systems.

We are accredited under the government’s Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for all types of heat pumps and solar PV installations.

Citation ISO Certification

We are certified under the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. The scope applies to design, supply, installation, and commissioning of renewable energy solutions for domestic and commercial sectors.

GSHPA

We are members of the Ground Source Heat Pump Association.

We are certified with NICEIC under the Competent Person Scheme, which allows us to self-certify our installations and issue building control notifications.

We are members of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code. This is a scheme to protect consumers from mis-selling.

IWA

We are members of the Independent Warranty Association (IWA). IWA is an Insurance Backed Guarantee and Deposit Protection Scheme. This gives our consumer clients peace of mind if something would happen to our company.

We are a Nibe Pro Installer. This means that we meet Nibe’s highest standard in terms of training and product knowledge.

As a Nibe Pro Installer, we can off our clients an extended warranty on Nibe products.
