How it works
In a solar photovoltaic (PV) system, sunlight generates DC electricity in solar cells which are assembled in solar panels.
The panels are connected to an array which is connected to an inverter converting the DC electricity to AC electricity.
The system connects up to the electric supply and from where all electric appliances in the property can use the generated electricity.
When the system generates more electricity than required, the surplus goes to the grid or, if a battery is installed, into the battery.
Why Solar PV?
1. Great investment
Solar PV can be a great investment, especially in combination with a heat pump. As more and more homeowners buy electric cars, generating your own electricity can be a great cost-saving method.
2. Good for the planet
Solar PV panels generate electricity without emitting CO2. A typical 4 kW solar PV installation generates around 3,300 kWh per year; corresponding to a saving of 1.4 tons of CO2 emissions compared to the same amount of electricity from the grid.
3. Hassle-free installation
Our professional and polite installers will complete a domestic installation in 1-3 days with no hassle for the homeowner.
4. Virtually maintenance free
Once installed there is virtually no maintenance. On pitched roofs, rain does most of the cleaning. The panels can be expected to last for over 25 years.
5. Increase the value of your property
Research shows that a solar PV installation impacts positively on your property value.
