In February 2020 we were approached by Mr & Mrs Grey looking for a solution to solve the very high running cost of their bungalow in Dorking Surrey.
As part of building works at their bungalow the Greys planned to have a Gas boiler installed to replace their oil boiler, but when British Gas made an error in quoting for a new gas supply to the property the Greys builder made a decision to install an electric central heating boiler.
During the first cold weather snap it became very apparent this solution was not viable due to the extreme running costs of such a heating system. After some research, the Greys thought the best solution was a ground source heat pump. However, during the first site visit by Better Planet, it became apparent that the cost implications of installing on a difficult plot would not be in the Greys’ best interest financially.
Better Planet specified a Nibe 12kW Air Source Heat Pump and hot water cylinder to replace the existing electric boiler, along with just one new radiator to the existing radiator circuit this ensured the whole house would be cosy and warm.
Within a month of the first site visit the system was installed by Better Planets installation team, commissioned, and fully operational.
Now the Greys have a warm house with vastly reduced running costs and are very happy with the whole Better Planet experience.
Location: Dorking Surrey

Comment from Alastair & Beth
Thank you all very much. We are absolutely delighted with the whole process from beginning to end.
The running costs for the last three months have been: April £53, May £32, June £14 – not bad?
